Park City, Utah – Blow Your Socks Off Activities

Nestled in the middle on the mountains is a modern though frontier style city called “Park City, Utah.”

When you think Couple Ski Vacation get away Park City should be at the top of the list. In close proximity there are three world class resorts along with many other great hotels, restaurants and divine shops.

The three resorts are “The Canyons, Park City Mountain Resort and the Deer Valley Resort. This area has been coined as the “Greatest Snow on Earth.”

One of my favorite hotels is Treasure Mountain Inn Hotel & Conference Center. Maybe this is because it is only one of 3 that I have stayed in. I have experienced its ambiance first hand. The other two were condominium hotels that I traded a timeshare to.  Check out the video on www.boomerandseniortravel.tv called “Couple Vacations; Park City, Utah; Boomer & Senior Travel TV #7; by Debbie Gerber” to see the Treasure Mountain Inn Hotel as well as Park City Main Street. I liked the feel and luxury of the Treasure Mountain Inn Hotel as well as the covered parking, cozy restaurant bar and close proximity to everything on Main Street.

If you go to the Park City Website they have an excellent website that covers all the hotels and Lodges, snow and weather reports, visitor center info, a Park City Map, Transportation information, the History of Park City, a Park City Web Cam as well as all the other information you might need to plan your vacation there. They even have coupons, deals, and offers for Park City.

It is a small enough area that anywhere you stay you are close to shopping, eating, skiing and entertainment.  One of the nice features that are offered by Park City is a free transit system. Isn’t that awesome?

So what are the fun, unique and weird things to do in Park City? Here are some that will blow your socks off.

Winter:

  • Hot air balloon rides
  • Visiting world-class art museums. Some specializing in Western Art, Glass art or Sculpture.
  • Of course there is skiing & snowboarding. For more excitement arrange to go Heli Skiing
  • Try some snow shoeing – that would probably include some heavy breathing (oh not that kind)
  • Thinking of snow how about cuddling together on a sleigh ride or book a sleigh ride dinner combo.
  • Not interest in the mountain activities or need a skiing break head to the spa for a message or go on a tour of Historic Park City
  • Here is one that is on my bucket list: Dog Sledding!
  • Visit the Olympic Park – Take the ride of your life on the bobsled or watch Olympic style events held there.
  • Last but not least Dining and Shopping

Remember though that Park City is not just about skiing & snow. When the snow has melted there is just as much fun to be had in the beautiful historic town in the sun as in the snow.

Summer:

  • Hot air balloon rides
  • Visiting world-class art museums. Some specializing in Western Art, Glass art or Sculpture
  • Head to the spa for a message
  • Take a tour of Historic Park City
  • Shopping at the fun and interesting shops in Park City
  • Hiking
  • Biking
  • Fishing
  • Horse Riding
  • Historic Tours
  • Architecture viewing
  • Theater – Historic Egyptian Theater on Main Street
  • Visit the Olympic Park – Take the ride of your life on the bobsled or watch Olympic style events held there.

For Activities in Park City Check out The Stillman Ranch activities,  All Seasons Adventures, Canyons Sleigh Ride/Dinner, Rocky Mountain Dog Sledding, Park City Balloon Adventures, Morning Star Balloons, Utah Olympic Park, Rocky Mountain Outfitters, Red Pine Adventures and Mountain Vista Touring. These are only a few of the companies that have adventure tours and activities.

Though immersed in the mountains you are only 35 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Salt Lake City, Utah. Salt Lake City has everything you could want in the way of shopping, the finest restaurants and entertainment.

I love Park City and all its variety of activities, shopping, dining, fun and romantic atmosphere.
