The Love of Ice Cream

Banana Splits

Our family is known for its love of ice cream. We often have  an ice cream treat while we watch a movie or even the news. I bought banana split dishes just for the occasion. I think if it looks food fancy it tastes better. One of our favorite toppings is cut up fruit especially pineapple, strawberries and cantaloupe. Although for me hot fudge is always a great choice. When we travel we love to find an ice cream outlet. In Europe our favorite is Gelato.

Throwing and Hand Building a Pottery Comical Fish

me with clay fish

I like throwing on the pottery wheel but I love hand building as well. Making this fish was a process of combining Throwing the body of the fish on the wheel and then building the attached parts by hand. The body and the tail were first. I threw a cylinder to make the tail and the body then hand build the other parts and attached them.

Frank Polito an instructor at Pottery West taught me a painting style to use on fish plates. I took that and used it on my fish sculpture. I can’t wait to fire and glaze him.
